How to convert your account from personal to business

Step-by-step guide to converting a personal E-Flux by Road account to a business account, including how to add your VAT and KVK numbers.

If you need invoices issued to your company with your VAT details included, you'll need to convert your account from personal to business. This guide walks you through how to do that and how to register your VAT and KVK (Chamber of Commerce) numbers.

What changes when you convert to a business account

  • Future invoices will be issued to your company name and include your VAT details.

  • Any invoices already issued will not be reissued — the change applies to new invoices only.

  • Your charging cards and billing will be aligned to your organisation's profile.

How to convert your personal account to a business account

Account conversions are handled by our support team. To get started, contact E-Flux by Road support and have the following details ready:

  1. Company name

  2. Company registration number (KVK number or local equivalent)

  3. VAT number

  4. Company address

A support agent will update your account type as soon as they handle your request.

How to add or update your VAT and KVK number

If your account is already a business account, you can update your VAT number and KVK number directly in the dashboard:

  1. Log in to your E-Flux dashboard.

  2. Go to Account settings (three dots left under).

  3. Select Account Info & Contact.

  4. Enter or update your VAT number and KVK number and save.

What if you have a VAT number but no KVK number?

It is possible to have a VAT number without being registered with the Chamber of Commerce — for example, if you rent out a vacation home. In this case, you can still add your VAT number to your account:

  • Business account: Dashboard → Account settings (three dots left under) → Billing.

  • Personal account: add your VAT number in the charge card or charge point reference field → Account settings (three dots left under) → Billing → Reference field.

What if the system rejects your VAT number?

If your VAT number is not accepted when updating your account, contact E-Flux by Road support. Our team will manually verify and add the number to your account.

How to transfer your user to an existing business account

If your company already has an E-Flux business account and you want to be linked to it, contact support with your request. We can free up your current email address so it can be invited to the business account, or you can use a different email address for the invitation.
