Keeping your charging sessions, account details, and billing data secure is our top priority. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of defence so that even if someone manages to guess or steal your password, they still cannot access your account.
Not seeing a setup prompt when you log in?
If you're logging in and not seeing any MFA prompt, this is expected before 17 August 2026. The login prompt only appears the first time you log in on or after Monday 17 August 2026. That said, you can set up MFA early at any time via your account settings — see the "Enabling MFA from your account settings" section below. From 24 August, MFA becomes mandatory and can no longer be skipped.
Key terms to know
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): a security process where you provide two separate forms of identity verification before accessing your account (e.g., your normal password plus a temporary phone code).
Authenticator App (TOTP): a free app on your phone or computer (like Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Microsoft Authenticator) that generates a unique 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
SMS verification: a traditional 6-digit security code sent directly to your mobile phone via text message
How to enrol your MFA
Setting up MFA is fast and straightforward. You do not need to hunt through your account settings; you will automatically see a setup prompt the next time you log into your E-Flux by Road account. Note: MFA setup is only available via the E-Flux by Road dashboard — it cannot be set up in the mobile app.
Tip: If you are currently logged in, simply sign out and log back in to trigger the setup prompt right away.
Choose your preferred sign-in method on screen and click Set Up:
Authenticator App: open your authenticator app, scan the QR code displayed on your screen, and enter the 6-digit code shown in your app to activate.
Text Message (SMS): confirm your mobile phone number and enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your handset.
Verify your email: If this is your very first time setting up a security factor, we will email a 6-digit code to your primary account address. This quick check proves you own the inbox before linking new credentials.
Enabling MFA from your account settings
Prefer to set up MFA directly from your dashboard rather than waiting for the login prompt? Follow these steps:
Log in to the E-Flux by Road dashboard.
Open your account settings by clicking the three dots (⋮) in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard. Note: this is within the dashboard, not the app.
Under Personal, click Password & Authentication.
Choose your preferred MFA method: Authenticator App or Text Message (SMS).
Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup. Your account is now protected with MFA.
Always on security
Once you successfully enrol a MFA method, the system will ask for your second factor whenever you log into your E-Flux account to keep your data protected.
Important note
If you no longer have access to the primary email address linked to your E-Flux account, you won't be able to receive the initial verification code.
