Claiming ERE Payouts with E-Flux by Road and Voltico

Written by Sjoerd Kortekaas

If you own a private home charger or a corporate charging location in the Netherlands with an integrated, MID-certified meter, you can earn recurring payouts on your charging sessions through the Dutch ERE (Emission Reduction Units) framework.

To make this completely hands off, E-Flux by Road has partnered with Voltico, a certified independent compliance expert (inboekdienstverlener), to manage the registration, regulatory trading, and payouts for you.

What you'll need before you start

To make the registration process as smooth as possible, have the following ready:

  • A PDF copy of a recent energy bill from your current energy supplier (max. 3 months old), clearly showing your name, address and EAN code.

  • Last 6 digits of your meter code.

  • A valid ID document for the identity check. The name on this ID should match your provided contact details and the name on the energy bill.

  • Business details (KvK and VAT number) for B2B or VvE/HOA accounts.

  • A valid IBAN.

How the sign up flow works

Getting set up takes just a few minutes directly from your E-Flux account:

  1. The quick scan (pre-screening): When you click the ERE banner in your dashboard, you will start with a "Quick Scan." This automatically routes you to either the Consumer path (simplified) or the Business path (requires your KvK number and VAT details), preventing setup errors.

  2. Profile auto-fill: To save you time, the system will automatically pull your existing contact details and phone number straight from your E-Flux profile. Please ensure that the contact details here match the name on the energy bill and the ID provided for verification.

  3. Identity verification: You will complete a quick, secure digital ID check to verify your account. This step is legally required to authorise digital signing on your behalf.

  4. Grid and utility verification (meter code + energy bill):You will enter your meter code (the physical serial number on your utility meter) and upload a PDF of a recent energy bill (no older than 3 months). This bill must clearly display the provided name, location and a EAN code. This validates the physical location of your charger and proves ownership for compliance checks.

  5. Digital signature and auto-sync: Once signed, a PDF copy of your agreement is emailed to you instantly, and your E-Flux charging sessions will automatically begin syncing to Voltico for payout calculations.

Key things to keep in mind

  • ⚠️ Do not disconnect: to receive your payouts, E-Flux must continuously sync data with Voltico. If you revoke consent or disconnect the link inside your settings, your ERE payouts will freeze immediately.

  • Retroactive claims: once registered, your eligible charging sessions from 1 January 2026 onwards are automatically included in your payout calculations.

  • Fee structure: there are no upfront connection or subscription fees. You retain 80% of your annual ERE yield (Voltico takes a 20% service fee), with the option to cancel annually with at least one month's notice before the end of each calendar year.
