I have a VAT-number but am not registered at the Chamber of Commerce, what do I do?

VAT number without Chamber of Commerce membership

Written by Sjoerd Kortekaas

It is possible to have a VAT number but no membership with the Chamber of Commerce. This situation might arise, for example, if you rent out a vacation home. In such cases, you can deduct the VAT on costs associated with maintaining the property. A membership with the Chamber of Commerce is not required in this case.

How do you add your VAT number to your invoice?

If this applies to you, simply add your VAT number to your E-Flux by Road account. This can be done in two ways:

  • Business account: via your account settings → Dashboard → Account settings → Billing. This does not require a Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number — the VAT number can be added on its own.

  • Private account: by adding the VAT number in the charge card or charge point reference field → Account settings → Billing → Reference field. Alternatively, you can add the VAT number directly after your last name in your account details.

Based on this information, we will issue your refund invoice including VAT. Whether you are liable for VAT or not, the invoice will always include VAT. Because E-Flux by Road is an operational company, the invoice will always contain VAT.
