Configuration Requirements
Configuration package E-Flux by Road
Contains: Sim card (optional), EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station
Configuration device: laptop/mobile phone
WiFi connection
Follow the steps:
Step 1: After safe installation, apply voltage to the charging station as shown in the Online installation guide (4. installation.) or the Quick Installation guide. Wait until the LED lights up green. This means that the charging station has been started up properly.
Step 2. Connect a laptop or phone to the WiFi network that starts with VoltTimeXXXXXXX. You can find the password of the WiFi network on the sticker that’s inside of the charging station.
Step 3: Enter https://10.10.0.1 in the search bar of your browser or scan the QR code on the side of the charging station. You will then be directed to the configurator. Log into the webinterface with the Installer login details that you will find in the inside of the charging station.
Step 4: On the CSMS page in the Configurator, you will find all settings concerning the back office. On this page you can check the backend connection status under CSMS connection status (see screenshot below).
Step 5: Please fill in the following settings to connect the charger to the E-Flux by Road backend:
CSMS Server Address: ws://ocpp.e-flux.nl/1.6/e-flux
Charger Identity: Fill in the unique serial number of the charger -> (VT_XXXXXXX)
Sound Notification: Enable or Disable the sound of the RFID scanner
RFID Enabled: Enable or Disable the RFID scanner
Offline Authorization: Enable or Disable the connection to the backoffice
Default id Tag: Fill in the RFID UID of your charge card if you’ve disabled the RFID scanner. You can contact your charge card provider to request the UID / RFID code of the chargecard. The UID code should look like this: 04FF3XXXXX6580.
Press Save to save the settings. The charging station will now attempt to establish a connection with the E-Flux by Road backend. The status of the connection is displayed at the top of the page.
Step 6: Go to the Network in the Configurator to configure the network settings. You can connect the Volt Time charger to the internet via Ethernet, WiFi or a mobile network (GPRS or 4G LTE-M).
Ethernet: The first thing you will find is the Ethernet settings. These settings are normally filled in for you if you have set the DHCP button to dynamic. This means that the charger automatically receives an IP address from the router as soon as an Ethernet cable (at least CAT5(e)) is connected between the Internet port of the communication card and the router.
WiFi: Secondly, you will find the WiFi settings. Activate WiFi with the remote router by completing the following steps:
Activate WiFi via an external router by switching on the WiFi button
Click on Refresh list to display the available WiFi networks
Click on the WiFi network and then on Use as WiFi SSID. - The WiFi network is automatically entered under WiFi SSID
Enter the password for the external WiFi network under WiFi PSK
WiFi DNS can be left open
Activate DHCP
Ad-Hoc should be deactivated.
Press Save
Check the status of the WiFi connection under WiFi Status
Attention: Remember that you must first connect to the remote WiFi network on your phone before you can find the charging station again. Use an IP scanner to find the IP address of the charging station (e.g. the FING app on Android) and scan the available networks. You should look for the network name consisting of "RAY-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" in this list. Enter this IP address in your browser bar. We recommend connecting the source to the home network after the full configuration has been done and the charging station has been tested by the authorised installer, so that the installer does not need to do any further configuration and does not need to be in the configurator again.
Mobile network (GPRS or 4G LTE-M): The third way for the charging station to connect to the internet is via the mobile network (GPRS or 4G LTE-M). To connect to the internet via the mobile network, a SIM card must be inserted, which is supplied by the back office providers. Once the sim card is inserted, follow this step-by-step plan:
Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot on the right side of the upper computer board
In the installation programme, go to the Network page and scroll to the Modem section
Enter the correct APN data as shown in the screenshot below
Press Save
Press Reload to restart the modem
After restarting the modem, the Sim Status shows SIM OK. This means that a correct connection with the SIM card provider has been established.
Note: The charging station automatically connects to the best mode of the Internet connection. If all three options are activated, the charging station automatically switches between the internet options and selects the option with the strongest internet connection. In most cases, this will be via an Ethernet cable. If one connection fails, the charging station automatically switches to another available connection.
If you are the installer of the charging station, go to step 7. If you are the owner of the charging station, go to step 8.
