4.3.1 Connecting to the charging station
To connect to the source, you need a laptop or phone with WiFi. You connect to the source to customise the charging station configuration. In the charging station configurator you can set, view and/or download e.g. Dynamic Load Balancing, maximum power, main connection values, OCPP, transactions and general information.
Connect your unit to the source by following the steps below:
1. After safe installation, apply voltage to the charging station as shown in 4. installation.
2. Wait until the LED lights up green. This means that the charging station has been started up properly.
3. Connect a laptop or phone to the WiFi network that starts with "VoltTimeXXXXXXX". Pull the wake-up word of the WiFi network on the sticker on the inside edge of the charging station.
4. enter "https://10.10.0.1" in the search bar of your browser or scan the QR code on the side of the charging station. You will then see the configurator.
5. log in with the "Installer" login details that you will find on the inside of the charging station.
ATTENTION: The "Installer" credentials may only be used by installers who are certified according to Volt Time and local regulations!
1. keep the login data carefully! Volt Time CANNOT find out the login data due to data protection laws and regulations.
2. log in as a user with the "EV" credentials found on the inside of the charging station.
3. stick the sticker in the quick guide and give the booklet to the owner of the charging station!
This page displays the general information of the charging station. Here you will find, for example, the model of the station, the ChargePoint ID (identification of the charging station) and the firmware version. This page is for overview purposes only and can be requested during installation, maintenance or servicing.
All information on this page can only be read and not changed.
On the CSMS page you will find all settings concerning the back office. The source can realise automatic billing via a back-office system. The source has been tested by the manufacturer with different back office providers. For the current list of back-office links, please contact your dealer. The CSMS page is divided into two sections. First, you can read the status under "CSMS connection status". The source shows whether the back office is connected to the charging station. Secondly, you can adjust the back office settings here and connect the charging station to the various back offices. To achieve this, the following schedule applies:
1. Geben Sie die Serveradresse (Backoffice-Adresse) unter CSMS-Serveradresse ein.

This page contains all the settings for the source's network settings. Here you can read information about the Internet connection, the way the charging station is connected to the Internet and the reading of the SIM card data (if applicable).
On this page you can also change and save various Internet settings.
The first thing you will find is the Ethernet settings. These settings are normally filled in for you if you have set the DHCP button to "dynamic". This means that the source automatically receives an IP address from the router as soon as an Ethernet cable (at least CAT5(e)) is connected between the Internet port of the communication card and the router.
In the second place you will find the WiFi settings. WiFi is a second option for an internet connection at the charging station and also a way to configure the charging station.
Activate WiFi with the remote router using the following scheme:
First, you can check the status of the WiFi connection under "WiFi Status".
-Activate WiFi via an external router by switching on the "WiFi" button.
-Deactivate Ad-Hoc (WiFi internal for configuration).
-Click on "Refresh list" to display the available WiFi networks.
-Click on the WiFi network and then on "Use as WiFi SSID". -The WiFi network is automatically entered under WiFi SSID.
- Enter the password for the external WiFi network under WiFi PSK.
- WiFi DNS can be left open. - Activate "DHCP".
-"Ad-Hoc" should be deactivated.
- Press "Save" to save
- Under WiFi Status you can see if the charging station is connected to the network.
Attention: Remember that you must first connect to the remote WiFi network on your phone before you can find the charging station again.
Use an IP scanner to find the IP address of the charging station (e.g. the FING app on Android) and scan the available networks.
You should look for the network name consisting of "RAY-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" in this list. Enter this IP address in your browser bar. We recommend connecting the source to the home network after the full configuration has been done and the charging station has been tested by the authorised installer, so that the installer does not need to do any further configuration and does not need to be in the installation room. The third way for the charging station to connect to the Internet is via the mobile network (GPRS or 4G LTE-M). To connect to the internet via the mobile network, a SIM card must be inserted, which is supplied by the back office providers. Once the sim card is inserted, follow this step-by-step plan.
Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot on the right side of the upper computer board.
In the installation programme, go to the "Network" page and scroll to the "Modem" section.
Enter the correct APN data you received from the back office provider.
Press "Save"
Press "Reload" to restart the modem.
After restarting the modem, the "Sim Status" shows "SIM OK". This means that a
correct connection with the SIM card provider has been established. The charging station automatically connects to the best mode of the Internet connection. If all three options are activated, the charging station automatically switches between the internet options and selects the option with the strongest internet connection. In most cases, this will be via an Ethernet cable. If one connection fails, the charging station automatically switches to another available connection.
