Configuration Requirements

  • Configuration package E-Flux by Road

    • Contains: Sim card (optional), EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Online guide Alfen NG

  • ACE Service Installer: Downloads | Alfen N.V.

  • Laptop equipped with a Windows operating system

  • UTP cable

Follow the steps:

Step 1: Download the ACE Service Installer (NG) on your laptop. To do this, go to https://alfen.com/nl/downloads -> All downloads -> ACE Service Installer (for NG platform).

Step 2: Log in to the Service Installer with the login credentials supplied with the charging station, or use the following login credentials:

Username: RadomskiR

Password: fazUv6

Step 3: Connect your laptop to the charging station using a UTP cable to connect the two devices, or connect the laptop to the switch if it is an installation with multiple chargers.

Step 4: Once you are logged in, select the charging station in the overview on the left.

Step 5: Once you have clicked on the charging station in question, you will be asked to fill in a password. The default password of the charging station can be found on the flyer included in the box of the charger.

Step 6: Select the charging station icon (the 6th in the row).

Step 7: Choose ‘E-Flux Platform’ as the backoffice preset, select the right connection method* for the internet connection and select the protocol ‘OCPP 1.6’.

*You can choose the following options: Mobile (Sim card), Wired (Ethernet) and Auto-detect.

Note: Chargers with FW6.x and higher make use of network profiles:

  • Network Profile 1 contains the Wired settings

  • Network Profile 2 contains the Mobile settings

You must select the priority of the network profiles used, or select ‘not used’ if the network method is not used.

Step 8: Click on save. The system then asks you to reboot the charger to save the connectivity changes. You do this by clicking the power button in the left corner of the service installer. After the reboot the charging station will be connected to the E-Flux by Road backend.

Note: Leave the charger's OCPP ID unchanged, as changing this number may cause interruptions in the communication with the backend.

If you are the installer of the charging station, go to step 9. If you are the owner of the charging station, go to step 10.

Step 9: Complete the following steps to activate the station on the E-Flux by Road platform:

  1. Login to your Field Service Account or create a Field Service Account via www.e-flux.io/installer-signup*.

  2. Go to “Setup New EVSE” in the menu on the left and enter the serial number or OCPP ID of the station.

  3. Click on “Setup charging station”.

  4. Click on Upload Configuration, then click Next.

  5. Choose and define the connector type, and choose “Save Connector Configuration”.

  6. The charging station is now activated and ready to be registered by the owner!

*A Field Service Account is for installers only and will be used as a point of contact for technical tickets.

Step 10: Complete the following steps to register the station on the E-Flux by Road platform:

  1. Ask your installer to complete Step 9 to finish the configuration of your charger, or call E-Flux by Road to finish the configuration.

  2. Create an E-Flux by Road account by going to www.e-flux.io/signup.

    • Is this charging station facilitated by your employer? Check your email for the invitation.

  3. Follow the steps to add the location and register your charging station.

  4. Put the sticker with the QR code on the charging station so it’s easier to identify the station if you need support.

  5. The charging station is now registered and ready to be used!

The charging station is now connected to the E-Flux by Road platform!
