Configuration Requirements

  • Configuration package E-Flux by Road

    • Contains: EVSE ID, configuration manual for the installer and registration manual for the owner of the charging station

  • Installation guide Prism Solar

  • Configuration device: laptop, smartphone or tablet

  • Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi Hotspot

Follow the steps

Step 1: Use the Installation manual of the Prism Solar to safely complete the installation of the charger.

Step 2: Connect your configuration device to the internal WiFi of the charger. You will find the charger in the available WiFi networks on your PC, smartphone or tablet. The format of the network will be Prism-xxxxx, where xxxxx stands for a number.

Step 3: Log into the charger using the credentials shown on the label of the charger.

Step 4: Once you are successfully connected to the intenal WiFi, enter the address http://192.168.8.1/benvenuto in your web browser and log in using the installer credentials shown on the label of the charger.

Note: A configuration page will be opened once you’re logged into the interface, where you will have to follow the on-screen directions.

Step 5: Configure the right network settings in the interface to connect the charger to the internet:

  • Connection to a wired network (Ethernet)

By connecting the Prism via Ethernet to a DHCP-enabled network, you will immediately be able to access the Internet and no further network configuration is required. The second page of the interface shows the IP address assigned to Prism by the router:

Note: We recommend that you assign the charger a fixed IP (from your router or Prism settings) so you can reach the interface more comfortably over the local network, using the new IP address instead of the default 192.168.8.1.

  • Connection to an existing WiFi network

If it is not possible to connect the charger to the Internet via an ethernet cable, it is possible to connect the charger to an existing WiFi network:

  1. Click on the link as indicated below.

2. login using the installer credentials shown on the label of the charger.

3. Open the Network -> WiFi (Wireless on some versions) menu.

4. Press the SCAN button. The charger will scan for available Wi-Fi networks, which will be listed on the next screen.

5. Select the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect the charger by clicking the Add Network button.

6. On the next screen, if necessary, enter the Wi-Fi password in the WPA access phrase box. If you use several access points with the same SSID and you want to make sure that Prism connects to a specific one, select Lock to BSSID.

7. Click on SEND to continue with the configuration.

8. On the next page, click on SAVE without changing any other settings.

9. Once back on the main page, click on Save & Apply.

10. The charger will disable its internal WiFi and will try for about 90 seconds to connect to the WiFi network that’s newly configured. If the procedure is successful:

  • The internal WiFi will be available again.

  • Reconnect to the internal WiFi to complete the procedure.

  • The procedure is completed by returning to the Guided Configuration page and then by clicking on the button on the right below Save and continue.

11. If the procedure fails (e.g. wrong credentials):

  • After 90 seconds Prism internal WiFi will be available.

  • On the WiFi configuration page a banner Failed to confirm apply within 90s, waiting for rollback... will appear.

  • Repeat the Connection procedure to an existing WiFI network.

Step 6: Having configured the network settings, scroll down the Guided Configuration page to the Communication via OCPP section:

Step 7: Press on the drop-down menu and select Enable.

Step 8: Configure the OCPP parameters:

  • URL: ws://ocpp.e-flux.nl/1.6/e-flux

  • Device serial code: ‘Enter the unique serial number of the charging station’

  • Authentication: ‘Enable OCPP without authentication’

Step 9: Press on Proceed.

If you are the installer of the charging station, go to Step 10. If you are the owner of the charging station, go to step 11.

Step 10: Complete the following steps to activate the station on the E-Flux by Road platform:
