This article explains upcoming changes for E-Flux charge card users who charge at stations connected to the Gireve and e-clearing networks. Starting April 1, 2025, a €0.40 per session fee (excl. VAT) will apply when using an E-Flux charge card at Gireve and e-clearing network charge points. This fee does not apply to charge points outside these networks and will appear on your invoice as “Roaming Hub processing fee.” These fees are part of broader 'Roaming Hub Processing Fees,' designed to cover the costs of enabling access to external network providers like Gireve and e-clearing.

What is changing for E-Flux charge card users?

From 1 April 2025, an additional fee of €0.40 per charging session (excl. VAT) will apply when using an E-Flux charge card at charge points connected to the Gireve and e-clearing networks.

Why is this fee being introduced?

Both roaming platforms, Gireve and e-clearing, have updated their pricing structures. Under the new terms, we are required to pay a fee for each charging session that runs through their platforms, which is why this cost is now passed on. Roaming Hub Processing Fees are additional costs associated with using charging points that are not directly managed by E-Flux but are accessible via specific external networks. These fees help cover administrative and processing expenses necessary for enabling charging through these third-party providers.

Which countries are affected by this change?

This primarily impacts charging sessions in Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, including those by travelers visiting these countries.

How can I check if a charge point is in the Gireve or e-clearing network?

To help customers manage their charging preferences, we are introducing a new filter in the map that displays public charging locations. With the filter it is possible to display Gireve and e-clearing connected charging stations. The information will also be shown on the location details page. The map is available in the web-based dashboard and the mobile app. This filter will be available from the 15th of March.

Where will I see this fee on my invoice?

On your charge card invoice, there will be a separate line with ‘Roaming Hub processing fee’. In Dutch, this fee will appear on the invoice as 'Roaming hub verwerkingskosten.'

Will this fee apply to all charging sessions?

No, the fee only applies to charging sessions that take place at charge points connected to the Gireve and e-clearing networks. If you use your E-Flux charge card at a charge point outside of these networks, this additional fee will not be charged. The fee applies regardless of whether you are on a Comfort or Flex subscription plan, ensuring consistency across all subscription types.

Can I avoid this additional fee?

Yes, you can use the new filter in the E-Flux mobile app to avoid charge points that are part of the Gireve and e-clearing networks and select alternative charging locations instead.

When does this change take effect?

The additional fee will be applicable from 1 April 2025.
