How can I add my charging station if the serial number is not accepted?

If the serial number of your charging station is not accepted when adding it, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Check the error message

Two common messages may appear:

  • Configuration not yet fully completed

  • No charging station found

Solution based on the error message

Message: configuration not yet fully completed
The installer must complete the configuration before the charging station can be linked.

Action:

  • Contact your installer to finalize the setup.

  • Alternatively, Road Support can assist you via the chat or by phone at +31 (0)850185243.

Message: No charging station found

Check the serial number

  • Ensure it is entered correctly, without typos or extra spaces.

    • Verify that it matches the sticker on the charging station more info

Try the OCPP-ID

  • If the serial number doesn’t work, try entering the OCPP-ID instead.

  • This ID can be found in the charging station settings.

Check if the charging station is already linked to E-Flux

If none of the above steps work, try restarting the charging station

  • Disconnect the station from power for 1 minute and reconnect it.

  • Try adding the serial number again.

Could the device be too old to connect?

In some cases, a serial number is not recognized because the device running on it has firmware that is no longer compatible with our back office. This is not limited to charging stations — any device that communicates with the E-Flux platform requires a minimum firmware version to establish a connection.

Signs this may be the cause:

  • The serial number is correctly formatted but still returns "No charging station found".

  • The device has never been connected to any back office or has been offline for a long time.

  • The device model is older and may not have received recent firmware updates.

What to do:

  • Check the current firmware version of the device (if accessible via its settings or display).

  • Contact the manufacturer to verify whether the firmware version is still supported and whether an update is available.

  • If a firmware update is not possible (e.g. the device is end-of-life), the device may no longer be compatible with the E-Flux back office. Contact Road Support via chat or phone (+31 (0)850185243) to confirm.
