How it works
Tesla drivers can add their E-Flux charge card as a payment method in the Tesla app, then simply plug in, the session starts and bills automatically.
Non-Tesla EV drivers can start sessions remotely at open Superchargers from their E-Flux app.
During a session: Tesla applies dynamic pricing, including congestion and idle fees. When using Plug and Charge (via Tesla app) the Tesla app proactively notifies drivers about imminent fees. The congestion fee encourages drivers to charge only as much as is needed for their trip, rather than all the way to 100%. This increases the availability of Superchargers so that everyone has access when they need it. When using remote start via E-Flux app the notification is sent via E-Flux app (drivers need to have notifications enabled).
Step-by-step guidance
For Tesla drivers:
Download the Tesla app and create a Tesla account.
In the Tesla app, open the menu (top right) → Charging → Manage Payment → Choose Payment Method → Add Charging Card → Select the brand (E-Flux by Road) → enter your name and charge card visual number (your card should be Active) → Submit
3. The card is now registered in a pending state and you will receive a verification email from E-Flux.
4. Follow the link in the email to confirm. The card is verified and set as the default payment method in the Tesla app.
5. Plug in at an open Supercharger - E-Flux performs authorisation and the session starts and bills automatically.
For non-Tesla drivers:
Your E-Flux card should be active.
Open the E-Flux app and find an open Supercharger (the map filters to supported sites).
Start the session remotely from the E-Flux app.
Charge, then stop the session from the app.
FAQ
Which EV vehicles can charge at the Tesla Supercharger network?
Any EV vehicle with a CCS2 connector can charge at an open Supercharger. Tesla vehicles can additionally plug in and charge automatically. Please note that the Type 2 (Mennekes) connector is not compatible with Tesla Superchargers.
Do I need an adapter?
No. If your vehicle has a CCS2 connector, you will be able to charge at Tesla Superchargers in Europe.
Why can't I charge at a particular Supercharger?
If that happens, this site is not open to non-Tesla vehicles. Open sites show in the Tesla app and in the E-Flux app.
Can I charge with E-Flux at any Tesla charger?
You can charge at the Tesla Superchargers, a fast DC charging network.
Tesla Destination Chargers, which are AC wall connectors that you can sometimes find at hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers, are not part of the current E-Flux roaming offering.
Can I pay with an E-Flux RFID card (plastic card)?
Drivers can use The E-Flux app or register their E-Flux charge card in the Tesla app. An increasing number of sites are equipped with RFID readers.
How am I billed?
The session runs on your E-Flux charge card alongside your other charging. No separate payment is required.
I added my card but it is not active.
Check that you followed the confirmation link in the verification email within the validation window. If it has expired, restart the add-card flow.
What is a congestion fee and how do I avoid it?
When a Supercharger site is busy and the vehicle has passed 80% battery charge, Tesla applies a per-minute congestion fee to free up stalls. This increases the availability of Superchargers so that everyone has access when they need it. Both the Tesla and the E-Flux app notify the driver when this is about to apply so they can unplug in time (drivers need to have notifications enabled).
