Owning an electric vehicle (EV) comes with various costs, especially when it comes to charging. Here, we break down the two main cost elements to keep in mind:
Costs of a Charge Card
Costs per Charging Session (set by the charging station owner)
Costs of a charge card
E-Flux by Road offers two charge card options with different pricing structures:
Comfort Charge Card
With the Comfort charge card, you’ll pay a monthly fee of €3.23 (including VAT). The charge card fee is automatically billed to your account or invoiced monthly. You’ll also see the individual costs of each charging session on your invoice (plus any applicable VAT).
Flex Charge Card
If you choose the Flex charge card, the initial bill will include a one-time setup fee of €5.00. After this, you’ll only pay €0.31 per charging session (including VAT) instead of a monthly charge. This makes Flex ideal if you don’t charge frequently. Note that, with Flex, each charging session will have an additional €0.26 starting fee on top of the charging station’s rate (excluding VAT).
Costs per charging session
Each charging station owner determines the rates for using their station. These rates may include:
Rate per kWh (kilowatt-hour): The cost per unit of electricity consumed.
Rate per hour: An additional cost based on how long your car is connected to the station.
Starting fee: A one-time fee that applies at the start of each charging session.
At every station, you will pay for the electricity used (per kWh) along with the applicable VAT. Depending on the charging station, you might also pay for the time spent connected and/or a starting fee.
Note: E-Flux by Road directly passes these costs to you as a charge card user, with no added markups.
Your monthly invoice from E-Flux by Road will include:
The cost of your charge card (€3.23 per month for Comfort or €0.31 per session for Flex).
